This news shocked the entire NTU community and has given rise to many theories on why the student stabbed his professor before jumping to his death. This has also raised the question on whether citizen journalism can be a good thing for Singapore and also whether mainstream news channels like the Straits Times is being objective in their reporting. 1) I think Mr David Hartanto Widjaja was experiencing lots of stress in his work and money problems. He could not cope for these problems and thinking that these problems is because of his professor, he stabbed his professor to solve his problem.
